Coaches Message
This week we started increasing the yardage in all practices. 6&Unders continued to improve their freestyle and backstroke techniques. 7/8s and 9/10s focused on butterfly and breaststroke. And the 11&Ups worked on conditioning in the water and turns. Overall it was a great week of practice!
Our plan for next week’s practices are posted under weekly workouts: Resources.
We saw great improvement at the stroke clinic on Tuesday and anticipate the same for this afternoon. Due to the success of the clinic we’ve decided to implement them more regularly into our schedule. Please stay tuned for upcoming dates for future stroke clinics.
This Saturday, June 4th, is our Red and Blue Practice Meet! Attendance at the Practice Meet is highly encouraged, as the times recorded on Saturday will be used to seed our Monday meet against Plaza Oaks. We will email the Practice Meet Heat Sheet on Friday evening and send Meet Results on Saturday evening. If your child cannot attend the practice meet we will get their times Friday morning during practice. Go Sharks!

Thank you to our generous concessions donors! We'll also have cold drinks, snacks, and sweet treats. The concessions stand is Cash Only.
What to Bring
Please walk, bike, or arrive in as few cars as possible – the parking lot will fill. Swimmers should wear team suits and please pack towels, goggles, swim caps, water bottles, sunscreen, cash, camp chairs, and patience. Label everything. There is down-time while swimmers wait for their next race. Bring cards, coloring books, or small activities to help occupy swimmers in between events. Swimmers will sit together by age group. Parents, please encourage your swimmer to remain with his/her age group. We need this coordination to keep the meet running smoothly.
What to Expect
Swim meets are organized chaos and practice meets are…practice! If you don’t understand something, please ask. We expect there to be a few mistakes as swimmers and volunteers learn meet protocol. We have 200 swimmers and many who are new to the team. We use the practice meet to fine-tune our skills before we have a real meet. Please let us know if you see something that needs to be tweaked and please help if you see a need. This is a great opportunity for volunteers to get hands-on training during a low stress event.
Go Sharks!
