2020 NFST Sharks modified season

    Dear Shark Families,

While this is not the start to summer that anyone anticipated, we hope your family is well and finding balance at home.

Memorial Spring Branch Swim Conference (MSBSC), has cancelled the 2020 competitive season due to restrictions on gathering safely in large groups. There will be no swim meets this summer. However, we have been encouraged to develop smaller group training options at our home pool. Many in our neighborhood look forward to swim season as a fun fitness activity, and so NFST is making a good faith effort to offer something for as many children as safely possible in place of our normal “Fastest Season Under the Sun”. To keep our Sharks active in the water, we are offering a practice season with limited spaces in each age group, registered and scheduled consistently as a cohort.

    PRACTICE:

    • Practices will be Tuesday - Saturday from June 9 – July 3, 2020.

    • Swimmers will practice only in their registered groups, NO EXCEPTIONS.
    • There will be no dual swim meets, parties, or whole team events. There will be no parent volunteers this season.
    • Practices will be run by coaches from the pool deck.
    • Swimmers and their families will be expected to follow all NFC facility policies, including updated Covid 19 guidelines.

    REGISTRATION:

    • Pre-registration for returning swimmers from 2019 opens 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 3.
    • If spaces remain, open registration for other NFC members will begin 11:00 am, Thursday, June 4.
    • To register, go to www.nfswimteam.com, log in at the upper right corner of the page, then click on the "Register now” button.
    • The size of each age group is limited and registration is on a first come, first served basis.
    • We are unable to offer Swim Team Only memberships this summer.
    • Registration is $85 for swimmers age 4-12, $25 for swimmers age 13+.
    • Registration fees are nonrefundable.
    • The NFST reserves the right to cancel or modify the season in order to adjust to any new health and safety guidelines.

Our volunteer committee has worked diligently to adapt to this unprecedented situation, to communicate with the league and NFC, and to structure this swim fitness opportunity with the health and safety of our Shark community at the heart of every decision. More information can be found on our NFST website. We hope to see you at the pool.

    Go Sharks!
